Another first
My ice skater's first experience on roller skates. I had mega-super-serious doubts at first. Oh ye of little faith.
I asked one of the rink monitors wearing referee stripes to help describe to her how to move her feet and use her body. His answer was to move like a penguin, shifting weight back and forth without lifting the skates off the ground. It made sense to her and she was very quickly making the oval around the rink with the rest of the crowd. I realize that we worked on a goal of choosing an expert/guide to help us. I modeled that for her, today. Later, I will review it with her and spotlight why I chose the young man I chose to ask for help.
