I won a copy of Jessie Hawkins', the kitchen herbal, in a blog contest and the book arrived today. It's a 111 page paperback that covers approximately four pages of information about 18 herbs, including a few recipes that use each herb. I'm learning something about herbs. I have a few recipes marked (in my mind) to try. Hawkins uses cheese, nuts, and whole wheat flour in quite a few, so they're out, but I found several that we can use. The mustard chapter is my favorite. The recipe for Balsamic Mustard Spread With Blackberries may be my starting place.
