The Poetry of An Autism Sibling

Age of Autism published the poem of a young woman who has a sibling with autism. AoA published it in the midst of several posts over a single weekend, and I hope the poem wasn't lost in the shuffle.

The support for a sibling of a child with autism is often nonexistent. Praise God for folks like Don Meyer, founder of SibShops! But many children don't have access to other sibs who can relate in shared experience. One of my children, in fact, feels very alone in the experience of being a sib of a child w/ autism.

In July, I blogged all of the notes I have gathered about siblings; click HERE to go to that post.
